Sunbird Resorts We are situated amidst a beautiful lush green spice-garden of about 10 acres in a place named Kolagappara (the rock that has the shape of a ‘Kolaggam’ or measuring vessel) The spice garden enjoys an amicable climate, with the average minimum dropping to around 100ºC while the maximum rarely exceeds 30ºC even in summers
This serene spice garden is nurtured by a beautiful stream (the Choondali stream) that borders it and is blessed by the magnificent view of a rock that resembles a mother and baby elephant. This resort has dwellings designed to appeal to the senses of the young & old, adventurer & the romantic. We also endeavour to bring Wayanad and Kerala closer to you by organising wildlife trips and sight seeing trips

At the Sunbird Garden you have ample opportunity to blend in with the nature. The spice garden offers space, serenity and peace of mind. You may choose to enjoy your favourite book, or carry your work here on a laptop or… just sing by the campfire. The naughty stream that caresses the Sunbird can also teach you ‘a thing or two’ in fishing. Come indulge yourself and enjoy.
The Resort has the facility of outdoor games such as the Shuttle Badminton. We also provide trekking opportunity at the rock. The Sunbird also has a swimming pool for you to relax.
This spice Garden is the home to about 120 species of birds. You may like to indulge in bird watching at the resort or we can convey you to birding spots such as the Kuruva Dweep. We also provide the facility for Wild life tours to famous Wildlife Sanctuaries such as the Muthanga and Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuaries |
Accommodation:
Tree House: A dwelling perched aloft that we fondly call the ‘Sunbird’s Nest’. This beautiful tree house is constructed based on the old ‘Machan’ or watchtower design. From this ‘Sunbird’s Nest’ you can enjoy the view of the spice garden and also the view of the Rock, which is particularly beautiful at Sunsets. This tree house is built on a sturdy platform to ensure safety. This house ‘atop’ also has a modern bathroom with all the amenities
The Suite: The Spice garden’s bungalow has been converted into a ‘Suite’ for your stay. This delightful structure is constructed in the traditional style while incorporating all modern amenities. The ‘Suite’ has two well appointed bedrooms with modern bathrooms for you to relax, a living room for you to unwind and even a dressing room
The Luxury Cottages: These cottages have been constructed in an unique octagonal design. The natural materials used in construction of these cottages ensure their Eco-Friendly nature. These ‘Luxury Cottages’ are set amidst a lush green lawn bordered by beautiful plants. You can relax by enjoying the serene view of the Rock or by wading in the Swimming pool that is just a few footsteps away.
Bamboo Cottages: This is our endeavour to bring you closest to nature. Each of these cottages have been made entirely out of Bamboo. These ‘Bamboo Cottages’ been painstakingly made by traditional workers using time tested methods and implements. All modern amenities and safety features have been catered for, to ensure that, you blend in with nature “comfortably and safely

Wildlife Plan (Out Door Plan)
This plan is spread over two days. In this plan you will be conducted to various Wildlife rich areas such as the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuary and other Wildlife ‘Hotspots’. This plan also offers ample opportunity for breathing fresh air, getting to know the nature better and also allows you to stretch those legs. Wayanad is rich for its flora and fauna and boasts of over 250 species of birds and a number of wild animals....come and enjoy nature
Wayanad Visit (Sight Seeing Plan)
This Plan is also for two days, wherein we take you around to various places of interest. Our list includes a diverse selection from Water falls to Edakkal Caves, To Raja Pazhassi Memorial, Pookode Lake, Kuruva Dweep Etc. This chalked out plan will allow you to soak in the best of Wayanad over a weekend with the help of a qualified tourist guide
Sunbird’s Stay (Farm Stay)
This plan is for two days and is meant for those who want to relax in the Resort. You can unwind beside the camp fires that we arrange. Or you may choose to relax by listening to the stream’s lullaby or by spending your time at the pool. In this plan we introduce you to the various nuances of spice farming, you can actually join the farmer in his work!!…We also provide complimentary Ayurvedic massages. This plan also caters for a visit to the scenic Pookode Lake and Soojippara Water
Natural Rejuvenation Plan (Ayurvedic Rejuvenation)
The natural rejuvenation package is aimed at rejuvenating you through the ancient and time tested science of Ayurveda. This plan is for 2 days to 7 days, depending on the Ayurvedic rejuvenation package that you choose from our list. Various Ayurvedic rejuvenation facilities such as Kizhi, Marma Massage, Shirodhara, Naysam and various other rejuvenation techniques to make you healthy and beautiful are catered for
